Bodo Janssen was kidnapped during his studies of economics and sinology and was realeased eight days later. 2005 he joined his parents’ company. 2007 his father, who once founded the family business, died in an aircraft crash. Destructive results of an employee survey in 2010 then shocked and took him very personally. These results revealed, that his employees were poorly managed. The knowledge, that ´the fish rots from the head downwards‘, was very sobering for him. In the face of his own consternation, Bodo Janssen decided to visit a monastery regularly for one and a half year, to get new experiences about leadership in a monastically atmosphere. At the same time, he was strongly catched by recent results of the positive psychology and neurobiology. In the interplay between spirituality and science, he started to ´meditate´ on the leadership topic and began a new way with a constantly growing number of employees: the Upstalsboom Way. Only three years later, it became apparent that value added by estimation is no illusion! In many places it rather an approach that outclasses the standard management practice.
