KANBAN - basics
Why attend this workshop?
Kanban is the basic element of Toyota’s Production System.
In production systems, kanban has two functions:
- to inform the process so that it produces parts and
- to inform the transport employee to transport them.
The first of these functions is fulfilled by the production kanban, the second – transportation kanban. These KANBANS must cooperate creating a Pull System in the organization. During the workshop, aside from theoretical knowledge, practical guidelines will be given, which are necessary for implementing and maintaining best practice.
Aim and expected results of workshops
The aim of the workshop is:
- to provide with necessary knowledge about Toyota’s Production System and
its element, which kanban is,
- to prove that this simple solution brings along a number of calculable effects
for the company: production/delivery in compliance with the order,
combining information flow with material flow, standard work,
immediate identification of deviations,
- to share practical observations about creating and implementing
kanban,
- to discuss the areas for implementing kanban in the organizations
of participants.
After completing the workshop, its participants will:
- have basic knowledge about the kanban system
